Shift Your Awareness

I was recently at a conference when reference to a book ‘Take Off Your Glasses and See’ was mentioned. This caught my attention as the book takes a mind/body approach and the perspective that eyesight isn’t just about our physical eyes but possibly related to some trauma or things in ourselves we don’t want to see.
Hmmm, this hit a spot! The first time I heard of this connection was when I went to see ‘John of God’ [João de Deus], a known Brazilian miracle healer back in 2016. Here’s an excerpt of the blog I shared at the time, but you can read the full story here:
“…We agreed to focus on three ‘physical’ aspects as most everything on the physical level is a result of an underlying emotional [emotions are energy] element. Aren’t physical issues a manifestation of something deeper?
For example, I may say that I want to physically see with 20/20 vision. What does this really mean? What is it about seeing or things I may not want to see, that’s going on in my life? Make sense? It’s not necessarily about the ability to see with 20/20 vision….
…Imagine my surprise when my guide told me that as I had asked for something related to my eyes, in addition to the bed rest, I was not to read or write [including my telephone, laptop, etc.] for seven days!”
I ordered the book and as it was waiting for me when I arrived home, I spontaneously opened to a random page where the author was explaining about multiple-personality (dissociative personality disorder) cases where one personality had limited physical eye vision and another personality had 20/20 vision.
What! How can this be, the same person with different visions.
The point is that we can shift the physical body with our awareness. Imagine what we can change in our lives by this belief alone?!?
This made another connection for me. I’ve heard many times that “we’re a soul in human form”. I probably even say it myself. Well, I’ve just started my 500-Hour Kundalini Yoga training and a couple questions presented were ‘What if we understood that our body is not a vessel housing the Soul, but the very expression of the Soul?, and “What of we saw the body not as an obstacle, but as a guide?”.
Another WOW!
By shifting our awareness, we gain greater perspective. Or another way to put is we can gain greater perspectives with our awareness.
How would a shift in your awareness resulting in greater perspective, change how you saw yourself, others and the world AND, how would that improve your life?
Just some thoughts to chew on.
