Reiki Levels
There are typically four levels of Reiki training (traditional Usui). I say typically because the levels and the content trained can vary by teacher.
Level one (L1) covers the foundations, including history, principles, and providing Reiki to yourself and others. Level two (L2) builds on this by incorporating the use of symbols and distance healing. Ideally, both will include plenty of hands-on practice.
Levels three and four are more advanced and the variation of content may be much greater based on the training provider / teacher. Training in these levels often included aspects like using crystals, aura clearing techniques, additional symbols, meditations, and attunements/placements. Level three and four may also be referred to by different names such as Advanced (L3) and Master Teacher (L4) or a variation of these names. This is why it is even more important to know what your training does and doesn’t include, especially if your objective is to teach Reiki to others.
Most teachers will have a minimum experience requirement of practicing Reiki as a pre-requisite for levels three and four.
If you want to take your Reiki training even further, there are many other styles of Reiki available such as Holy Fire and Karuna.
