About the event

A Reiki Restorative Yoga Class for those affected by trauma or loved ones who are supporting trauma survivors.

Join Joanne Klepal and Vanessa Murray on a trauma healing journey under the teepees at 9 am on April 30th.

During this 75 minute class you will take part in healing Reiki by Joanne while Vanessa leads you through a Somatic Restorative Yoga.

Reiki is a healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki is a non-invasive, completely benign healing technique. Reiki is quickly becoming a core treatment option for those with PTSD.

Restorative yoga supports embodied awareness, which is awareness that reaches deep into the nervous system, where contracted states caused by stress and trauma can be released. This is where profound and lasting change takes place.

The poses being suggested support embodied awareness and enhance an overall sense of well-being. Ease is emphasized in this practice to evoke the relaxation response, which aids in rest, repair, recovery, and resilience. This is a trauma-informed class and all students are encouraged to be in their body on their time. No adjustments or assists with safety and security being priority.

Pre-registration required.

For this practice please bring: -yoga mat if you have one -blanket, pillow, or comfort items for stillness -refillable water bottle -dress appropriate for outdoor weather

Proceeds benefit Alaqua.

WEEKLY INTEGRATIVE PROGRAMS — YOGA, MEDITATION, JIN SHIN JYUTSU, AND THERAPEUTIC ART Held at Alaqua Animal Refuge 155 Dugas Way in Freeport, FL ___________________________ LEARN MORE AND SIGN UP FOR CLASSES: https://alaqua.org/kindness-kollective/ ___________________________ ABOUT KINDNESS KOLLECTIVE: Alaqua’s Kindness Kollective is an expansion of our programs to offer individuals a chance to experience the healing power that animals can have on their mental health. This unique model addresses the mental health challenges of our present world by creating a program that utilizes the healing power of animals in healing the human heart. Alaqua Founder Laurie Hood discovered that people from all walks of life, all nationalities, and all ages were drawn to what she created at the Refuge. The common thread that brought them together were the animals, but their stories were all the same.

Many people had experienced some type of trauma in their lives—whether it be physical or mental disabilities, abuse, the loss of a loved one, or the anguish of just surviving in today’s world. It was with the animals that people found the courage to begin their own journey of recovery, improving their own emotional and physical well-being. Alaqua’s Kindness Kollective aligns perfectly with their overarching vision of creating a kinder, more empathetic, and healthier society for animals and people.

We invite you to come experience our Kindness Kollective programs in our natural and serene environment that offers continued transformations for all souls. Classes will be held either in our Tepees or Courtyard. ___________________________ SIGN UP TODAY: It’s easy to sign up!
