About the event

In this Hatha practice, we use postures, breath, and meditation to come into union. You will enter the postures slowly, find a position which you can maintain without movement for a period of time, finding the perfect balance between relaxation, comfort, and effort. Holding postures for an average of 2-5 minutes can be challenging but allows you to tap into the individual and universal energies of the chakras, to enter a meditative state, and create a state of stable equilibrium on the physical, mental, emotional, and psychological levels.


Yoga comes from the root word ‘yug,’ meaning to ‘yoke’, to ‘unite’. For ‘union’ to occur, there must be two or more of something to unite. With the use of asanas (postures) in hatha yoga we strive to unite the two polar energies within ourselves to come to a state of yoga, a union of the different aspects of our being, and…
